Every word and step you take, I’ll be agreeing with you. Thanks MC for having “the balls” to step into the light of reason and not staying in the (potentially) comfortable shadows.

Yes. They are stupid, silly and selfish.

MC - I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. This is not about personal rights. It is about community safety. I don't understand the insane selfishness of these groups. It really pisses me off. To see the Delta variant spread as it has - among this population specifically (not surprisingly) but also among younger people (sadly) is so unnecessary. The other really sad unintended consequence is the people who have medical emergencies (non-COVID-related) and are unable to get access to beds and proper medical treatment. While I do not intentionally revel (or wish) in other people's misfortune...this is truly a schadenfreude moment!

Schadenfreude for sure. I know of people who have had treatment delays and stuck in recovery after surgery because of no beds due to all beds being used up for unvaccinated Covid variant patients. I want those people to get care, obviously, but it didn't have to be this way. Thanks for subscribing -- for reading -- and for commenting and sharing your thoughts, Jim!

M.C. - While I agree with everything you say (until the last two paragraphs) I often have to take time to peel myself off the ceiling and find a place of centered calm - regardless of how others foolish behavior has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and untold misery. However, for me and others I know there are long term relationships that are deeper than companionship or a surface friendship. Will I visit my sister who lives and works a couple miles from where I live? No, but she is still my sister and if she sent me an urgent cry for help, I'd probably go. Will I go to a family funeral when some of my cousins say they'll bring guns in case those 'liberals' show up - No, but thy are still my cousins with interactive history going back many, many decades. Meanwhile, as a high introvert, I've been training all my life for serious quarantining and now get to use that training.

Of course you'd go and help your sister! I would too. I'd probably go and help a stranger, friend, or even someone that I'm furious at or disappointed in. I'm just saying I'm not going to condone the behavior by pretending that it isn't what it is. Thanks for reading, Bill -- and for taking the time share your thoughts!

I agree with what you have said in Psycho Killers. I cannot support the income of those that are not helping the rest of the community that do the right thing by getting vaccinated. I find those Vax-delayers or deniers are not always straight forward when ask if they have been vaccinated, which leads to distrust. If we all stand together and not support their income it may make a difference. But they may never gain my trust again.

I agree that one very common trait among the people I know who delayed or who have not gotten vaccinated is that they dance around the issue -- they demur, they deflect, they hem and haw -- to the point that, yes, sometimes one doubts what they're saying. If they believe in what they're doing, I'm not sure why there's all this deflection or dancing around the topic. Robin -- thank you for reading and taking a moment to comment!

We feel the same way M.C. I resent having to basically hide out in my house because so many people are selfish. When did we as a country begin to care only about ourselves? Remember "ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country?" I can't go to my hairdresser anymore because of her choices about Covid. It is really a shame. What's even worse is the rewards for bad behavior. Why should anybody be paid to get vaccinated. The inmates are running the asylum.

I agree -- why reward this kind of behavior? The only compelling reason is to get as many people vaccinated as possible so that we can stop or at least stem the tide of hospitalizations, death, long-term side effects and maybe, one day, get back to some sort of normal. Thank you so much for being a subscriber, Patt -- and thank you for reading and for sharing your thoughts with me!

First n foremost I have a medical condition which does not permit me to partake in the COVID cocktail. That being said this vaccine has proven to be anything but considering 8 months post vax many ppl are being teed up to be given “boosters”. Additionally vaccinated ppl are getting and spreading the Delta variant. Other courses of treatment are being arbitrarily ruled out as possible solutions especially for ppl like me. It’s not a vaccine it’s a routine, reoccurring scheduled prophylactic treatment. Interesting how the government has yet to disclose this while big pharma continues to take it in. I await your response Jp17

Jp17, I don't understand what you mean by Covid cocktail. I have a medical condition that if I were to get Covid it would kill me, no ifs hands or buts. I am on oxygen 24/7 and I have lung cancer and a few other things that make my immune system weak. Do you honestly think that if everyone got the vaccine when it was first offered we would be in this mess right now?

I agree, Patt -- it seems very clear to me that if we had had massive buy-in on the vaccine from the get-go, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in at all!

Hyperbole a COVID cocktail is the vaccine. Where as you have choosen to introduce the vaccine into your body based on medical advice I am not in that position based on medical advice. As far as everyone getting the vaccine when first offered I believe the results would be the same. Certainly vaccinated ppl are still spreading and being infected with the Delta variant. Sadly the (IMO) genetically modified Corona virus and variants are here to stay. No amount of vaccine will eradicate it. I’ve made my decision based on the medical experts I trust their position. Good luck

Gosh, JP17, I'm sorry to hear that you have a medical condition that would prevent you from getting the vaccine. I appreciate you being a subscriber and taking the time to read a piece that runs contrary to your own experiences/beliefs, and for sharing your thoughts.
