Yes! I actually wanted to incorporate that aspect into my piece but it was already so long and I wanted to focus on encouraging people to run for office. BUT the best part of this book was the storytelling Lewis did about people who work in service -- in the government, in social services, all kinds of public service -- and how essential they are for so many reasons that I've never given much thought to. In reviews, Lewis was sometimes criticized for including TOO many of these stories at too great length in his book -- but I thought they were the best part and it is their stories that motivated me to write about it. Because what I learned is that if we don't have leaders who FUND public servants, then they can be as great as possible but will be out of jobs (like happened to so many during the Trump administration. :)
