Another articulate, moving, and thought-provoking piece, my friend. Like you, I strive to come from, if not a place of love, at least a place of compassion, for those with different outlooks and philosophies than mine. Also, as you address in your writing, this is not always easy and may not always be possible. Some attitudes, beliefs, practices may be so heinous as to preclude real love and understanding. Even Dr. King struggled with this and there is a significant body of his work that is much less about love and light as it is about removing the entrenched and inhuman systems of racism and hatred. This reminder is timely and also helped, for me, highlight the constant struggle between compassion and righteous action that is , sometimes required to move us all forward. This would make for a great discussion and I hope, someday, to share that conversation with you...

Well, once again, you give us ( me) a lot to think about. I too, will try to come from a place of love, sometimes easier said than done, yet most times truly worth it.

Well, like I wrote -- I'm not sure I can do it because I struggle with anger toward people who support Trump. But I do want to try to be more loving!
